I'm really an "oldie" when it comes to Mopars but have been out of the hobby for years. In 1990, I moved back from California headed to Maryland but only got as far as Missouri (long story). I had 4 of the 6 Mopars I wanted to leave with. I went back to school, became a teacher, my wife ran off, I lost my kids and house, and a number of years later remarried, had two more wonderful kids, and the projects went on hold. I have a 66 Sport Fury (440) which I sold to a younger brother and kept the 66 Valiant convertible, 68 Barracuda, and the 68 Charger. The Charger needs a ton of work as it is my one Missouri car which means rust. It came with no paint or motor but it does have a good interior and is straight. It will need quarter pannels and a trunk, of course. I have a 69 383 block which I plan to have stroked. Whoever put the vin on at the factory put the first rivet over the first alpha so it cannot be read. The Missouri title and subsequnt bills of sale start "SP" which is impossible because the chargers began with an X and, unless I'm mistaken, no Dodge/Plymouth vin began with an S in 68. The vin reads G for engine. The old Year One catalogue I have stats the G means either 383 2-barrel or 383-4 barrel. The new Year One catalogue says G means 383 2-barrel. The car has dual exhaut. The fender tag has 62 for engine and according to my official restoration book, that means 383-4 barrel so I am in business. The vin may matches and, as long as the state does not figure out the SP is wrong, I should be okay. I have lots of questions but have to get going. See you all later
