My son has been using my 2006 Magnum while he is at college, and he called me and said the service engine light came on, the car was running rough, especially at idle, and it was low in oil. I had him put in some oil and have the guy at the parts store read the code. He said it read P0304 - misfire in cylinder 4. He came home for the weekend and I read codes P1521(INCORRECT ENGINE OIL TYPE), P0304(Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected), and P1414(CYLINDER 4 REACTIVATION CONTROL PERFORMANCE). Sure enough, he put in 5-30. But I can't say for sure all the codes weren't there before.
Put in new plugs, changed the oil and filter with proper stuff. At first it still didn't improve, so I rechecked the codes, then erased them all. Started it up and it ran beautifully.

Lessons learned:
Use the right 5-20 oil.
The fora I read seemed to indicate that using the regular copper Champions is just fine if not the best option.
Use a plug socket with a built in universal joint and a 3" extension. This is important because the socket really likes to stay on the plug when the new one is installed. A piece of clotheshanger with a hook on the end works well for fishing the socket out - the gaps in the universal are real handy for that.
Erase (or Clear) the error codes after reading them ... they don't necessarily reset themselves when the condition goes away.

How many miles are on the engine? I have never seen the wrong oil weight cause an engine misfire. The Champion Copper plugs normally are changed every 30K for the best performance. It's possible the engine did not run proper on start up because the cylinders were loaded up with unburnt fuel. Hope this helps answer your questions.
