So I thought I'd try and record some data on my holiday trip in the SRT. I was not looking to set any records here, just more for my information and maybe some of you will find it interesting as well. I kept track of how much gas I put in at each fillup and my miles traveled. I also had a GPS that gave me overall average speed, moving average, max speed, total time, moving time, and stopped time. I tend to drive +3-7 mph over the speed limit but I'll tuck in behind someone going faster if I can. This is on the stock tune as the octane grades vary across the state and I don't want to deal with changing the tune. I probably had about an extra 200-250lb in the trunk as well.

so the average isn't that great but I had to go though a lot of small towns with lights, single lane highways where I had to accelerate to pass people, had a little fun in the car, and drove a little faster than I planned on.

That's about average considering the in-town driving. When I'm on the highway, I get 23 if I stay at 75, 21 if I stick to the 60/65 limit and between 15/17 in-town daily driving with 45 the max.

Do you get better gas mileage without the Predator tune or with it ?
I'm assuming you use the DiabloSport Predator for your tune.

I don't know how my gas mileage with the tune. I just took it out because of all the variations of gas I see when I leave town. speaking of I need to put the tune back in. and i'm talking about the predator can tune

I find figures like this interesting. Thanks for taking the time to post them. We are averaging about 19 MPG in our Dodge Nitro after eight months. My best mileage comes from my six speed Vette! LOL
