Ordered a 2010 Ram 3500

I ordered a 2010 Ram 3500 ST Crew Cab Long Bed Dually 4x4 yesterday, 01/07/10. I'll post back the day I take delivery, and we'll see how long it takes when you order a truck.

Its going to be a garage queen. It will sit in the garage about 320 days of the year, and only gets to come out when its time to tow a triple axle fifth wheel toyhauler. The only mods I'm planning right now are window tint, black aftermarket wheels, and black paint on the bumpers.

I just got an email from the dealer. Order date was 01/07/10. The truck will be built on Wednesday 02/03/10. Ship date is 02/04/10.

Still waiting. The truck is on a train car somewhere between Texas and Utah. A few years ago you used to be able to track where the vehicle was at, but the web site for that is no longer present.

Dealer actually placed order on 01/11/10
Truck build date 02/03/10
Loaded on train 02/04/10
Arrived in train yard in Roper, Utah on 02/27/10
Unloaded from train on 02/28/10

Truck has not yet arrived at dealership in Richfield, Utah. They are expecting it on 3/08/10, which would mean it takes 9 days to go the last 150 miles on truck.

The truck arrived at the dealership on 03/09/10, but the transport truck hydraulics broke. The transport truck was repaired and the vehicles were unloaded on 03/10/10. The truck had a spray in bed liner applied that day, and then a Reese 18K fifth wheel hitch installed on 03/11/10. I picked up the truck on 03/12/10. This is a base model truck with the ST trim package. Here are a few pictures.

Already putting the truck to work. 5 points for the first person to guess what the fuel mileage was on the first 140 mile trip with this trailer hooked up.

I'm going to say 13 mpg.

Fuel mileage on the first 140 mile trip was 7.4 mpg. I had to pull directly into a headwind with gust as high as 106 mph for fifty miles of that trip. Since then I have towed the trailer numerous times, and I get 8 to 9 mpg most of the time.
