Every dealer in my area, including small town dinky dealers, all seem to have 8-10 challengers sitting on the lots collecting dust.

Our closest Dodge dealer (107 miles away) has two Challengers. I have ordered a 2010 Ram 3500 dually from that dealership, and had thought about trading in my 2008 Challenger for the new Ram pickup truck. The Challenger is paid for, so it isn't costing me anything, but it is a lot of money to be just sitting in the garage, because I don't use it very much. I figured that I could trade it in and that way the new truck would be paid for, and it would save me the interest cost on the new truck. Well, the Dodge dealer only offered me $33,000 for my 2008 SRT8 Challenger, with 4000 miles on the odometer. That was $3000 less than NADA trade in price. I told the Dodge dealer that I would not be trading in my Challenger for such a low price. The interest rate on the new truck is only 1.9%, and I'll gladly pay 1.9% interest to be able to keep the Challenger.
I would hope that people buying new Challengers can get a great price on them from the dealerships, because dealerships sure don't think a used Challenger is worth very much. Something to consider.

Apparantly the folks at the dealership where smoking crack when they offered you that price.
First year, limited edition SRT 8 for that price...bunch of crack heads imo.
I'm a bit torn between the low challenger sales.
On one hand I like the idea of having a more rare car on the road.
On the other hand low sales will mean limited after market part availability.
I hope challenger sales pick up, honestly, I just don't want challengers to be the new mustang where you see one every 1/4 mile

I have noticed that people are not buying "toys" like they used to, me included. This economy really sucks and the auto industry is in up to their necks. :-(

the lots in Whitby have 6 Challengers, the new yellow ones are flying off the lots, but the 3.5's are not selling, one lot has an R/T with a T/A hood and it has not sold. frankly i don't care if they don't sell, i have my piece of history and i love my car, they can bury my a$$ in it .

This is sad indeed. I'd love to own a chally, but only having one parking stall in a condo complex really bites, guess I just have to suffice with my Ram.

there are 10 new camaros for every chally i see here and they just came out.. I hope they keep the sales low myself. I enjoy flashing the lights at fellow members. if you had a camaro youd be replacing bulbd once a week.

This is one car that the price hasn't went down, compared to others. And with the economy..and winter in most places, the sales have been affected. They'll go down in a few years. I want one!:D

Well one thing the Camaro and Mustang have over the Challenger is NAME RECOGNITION.
Camaros and stangs have an instant edge on the Challenger just with that.
Product recognition is a big factor in the sales of any product.
That's why advertising is so improtant and yet I can't think of a single Challenger commercial EVER
That coupled with poor econony, winter etc won't bode well for Challenger sales.
