installed new chrome gas filler cap

well my wife bought me a chrome filler cap out of the blue.
looked at the hand drawn and then photocopied instructions and said well OK.
thought it would be pretty straight forward and easy.
looks great but I still put a couple scratches in the paint around the opening...GRRRRR

If your doing this mod make sure you pull the wheel well plastic down and reach in from under the fender and push the existing plastic housing out from the inside.
This was my mistake.
Even using a cloth wrapped screw driver to pry from the outside resulted in a few small paint scratches.

damage you do yourself sucks 10X worse cause you got no one else to blame but yourself.

i hear you, i scratched my ride with a garden hose trying to wash off a bird turd. put a good one behind the gas cap, i said a few bad words

when i got mine off ebay, it was a mopar part. seemed that the instructions were pretty clear and even showed pulling the liner down. honestly, that was the hardest part of the whole thing. .......and as a side note. i guess i'm the type that would rather have myself to blame than someone else. i get nervous when someone tries to work on any of my vehicles.
