Having my car in the body shop while the sun is out and the days are getting warm sucks. the anticipation of picking the car up is like when i was waiting the first time to go into the dealership to pick her up. It has been over a year i have owned the Challenger and i still can't get over how awsome it is and i have owned some kool cars over the years but this one is like no other and it is puzzling. what does this car have that others do not, it may not be the fastest, it is bigger and heavier than the competition it handles better than any other car i have owned. i will have to contemplate this when i get her back.

Hey everyone, Steve here, i am proud to be a member of a great forum as this. The Z forums have been a great help on finding technical information on my ride. i have been a MOPAR man my whole life, even while growing up in a Ford family, my first MOPAR was a 69 Dodge Moncao convertable, then came a string of Road Runners, Caravans, one Dakota, one Intrepid, a PT Cruiser and now the Challenger. i must admit i have owned some bowties as well, i have always been partial to the Monte Carlo owning 3 of them and one 49 Chevy. i did own a Ford for one day when it died on me on the street, i got out of the car took my stuff out and threw the keys on the front seat and walked away. i was told by passing people that i could not park it there, to which i replied " i am not parking it, i am abandoning it " i won't own a Ford again. This is the end of Rant # 1

Evacuate in substandard junk? You bet!

I have not had Mopars since my college days and I am 62 years old now. Had a '69 389 Road Runner then. Went on a Ford jag after that and drove many Mustangs through the years until 1997 when I saw my first C5 Corvette. Took that one home with me and have had four more Corvettes since. I do, and have always, loved American iron muscle.

I think my age was beginning to show after hurricane Kristina forced my wife and I and our animals out of our home for a month. We lived in motels and such during that horrible time. We evacuated in my 2000 Chevy Impala work car and it was barely adequate to hold us all in any comfort at all. My wife had a 2005 Chevy Colorado and we procrastinated buying a new vehicle since ours were paid for. In May of 2009, my Impala was flooded while parked in a Chevron parking lot where I leave it to catch a helicopter to fly to work in the Gulf of Mexico. I had been meaning to cancel my comprehensive insurance on that vehicle, luckily, I didn't. Allstate gave me $6000 for it!

My wife, Peg, then gave me her Colorado to work in and we went looking for an SUV that would be very useful and comfortable living in the hurricane prone Mississippi delta. I did internet research and was all set to buy a Hyundai Santa Fe. I really thought it would exactly fit our needs after reading all the reviews. We drove one twice and liked it. I then asked the sales manager to give me his lowest price and that I still was looking at, and I picked these names out of thin air, a Toyota and a Dodge. He then made the following statement, "If you're looking at Dodge, I won't even bid because they sell substandard junk that I can't compete with pricewise." I was dumbfounded! I asked him again to bid and he refused. As my wife and I got into our car to leave, one of his salesmen ran out and thrust his business card into my hand with $22,900 hand printed on the back.

I was fuming that a Korean car salesman would refer to American iron as "sunstandard junk" so I told my wife, lets go look at some! I was initially interested in a Durango but, after seeing one, thought it too big. As we walked out of the lot, we passed a 2009 Stone White Nitro R/T. I asked the saleman about it, he described it and we went for a ride. While my wife was enjoying the drive, I looked up reviews on the Iphone and they were dismal! My wife was in love with this little truck. I showed the "Hyundai quote" to the saleman and in ten minutes, we were doing paperwork.

As soon as we got it home, I found the NitroforumZ and joined, hoping to get the real skinny on this vehicle. We love it and so did most of the members of the forum! It is all a truck based SUV should be and we are very happy with it. America has shot itself in the foot with their car companies. Such a shame that they will not be able to compete in a global economy with all the union baggage hanging around their necks. I am quite proud of Ford for all it is doing to lift itself out of the mire. Still, I will not sit by and listen to a Korean car company salesman refer to American, as I remember it, iron as "substandard junk". It is good to find the Mopar-Nation and once again have pride in one of their vehicles.

My wife and I attend car shows with our 1998 Indy Pace Car Corvette but our favorite part is listening to the New Orleans Mopar Club pull into the lot. Nothing sounds like a big block Mopar to me. Now, I am squeezing myself back into the fold and am really enjoying the Mopar camaraderie. Is a Hemi in my future? Don't know yet but I'm sure enjoying our little Nitro R/T and the company of all you good people. Long live Mopar!

Hello everyone, my name is Paul, aka 300 Addict, and I am a regular on the Z network, mostly on 300cforumz.com, and GTALX.com, which is part of Mopar-Nation, but help out around here where I can.
Tonight, I used the Mopar-Nation logo to direct me to the local GTALX site, and to my surprise, this new forum representing all our Mopar clubs, appeared in front of me. What a great place for all our clubs to join together! I look forward to participating here, and also see what all of you are all up to! All the best,
